Google Ads – Scan To Call QR Feature

Over the past few years, QR codes have transitioned from being just a technological curiosity to an essential tool for businesses. From restaurants to retail shops, these scannable codes have become a shortcut to a plethora of information.

Google, ever the pioneer, is not one to be left behind. They’re currently testing an ad extension, merging the capabilities of QR codes with direct call features.

With this new feature, users can simply scan the QR code displayed on the ad using their smartphone. This acts as a gateway, a portal if you will, directly connecting the user’s phone to the number associated with the advertisement.

Google Ads is also testing a visual treat for its users. Advertisers can now display three images side by side within the ad, making it more visually appealing and informative.
