Privacy Alert: Google Indexing Bard Conversations!

Google has recently begun indexing shared conversation URLs from Bard, a platform enabling users to share chats. This development poses significant privacy risks, especially if users have inadvertently shared personal information within these conversations.

Many users have taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction and concerns over this matter, prompting a response from Google: “Bard allows people to share chats, if they choose. We also don’t intend for these shared chats to be indexed by Google Search. We’re working on blocking them from being indexed now.”

Given the potentially sensitive nature of the shared information, the privacy implications are severe, and users are cautioned to be mindful of the content they share on Bard until Google has resolved the indexing issue.

  • Review any shared Bard conversations and remove sensitive information.
  • Be cautious about sharing private details in online platforms.
  • Keep abreast of updates from Google regarding the resolution of this issue.
